Why do we react ?

In the fresh sunny morning two laborers working is two different boarder sharing farms, went to water their crops. That boarder was also of two different kingdoms. Both went to the river at the same time, from where they were going to flow the water into their farms. As only one person can water the farm at a time, they both got into a conflict. Nobody was compromising. Both wanted to water their crop first. Situation came when they got into fight. Both badly beat each other. They went to their owners and told the incidence. Both land owners told the news about fight to their village head. Village head told to the panchakrushi president. Quickly this news of fight went to area head, kings guards and ultimately to both the kings. Both kings got very angry. Both kings prepare their soldiers and went for war against each other. Both kings bought their army to the side of that river. the war was going to start. Suddenly A monk came from woods, he was nothing but budhha. Budhha ask the kings, "why are you going to fight, what is the reason to fight?". Both kings didn't know the answer. they ask to his assistants, assistant asked to area head, area head to village president and ultimately to the labor, Nobody knows the actual reason. then after learning the reasons one of them said "his labor injured my labor". then Buddhha said "First of all, 'you are going to fight a war for labor' this is not sounding good, king has started a war for a common labor. There the status of a king is not maintained by him". Budhha again ask the actual reason for the fight of the labors. One of the king replied, "for water". Buddha ask, " what is the price of water?" both the king felt embarrassed. "Nothing" they replied. "And what is the price of a human?". "very precious". Buddha again told, "that fight between the laborer's was not because of the water, that fight was because of who first?". "water is unlimited, river has a lot of water, if they had watered their crops alternatively it would hardly took 3-4 hours for the turn of second labor and the crop will not die too". Budhha added.
This story has a huge message that I see in it. Both kings were unaware of the reason why they picked fight? and the reason they have been told (water) was not the actual reason (who first).
those labors are our eyes, ears and heart. And that king is our mind.
these of our labors see something, hear something, experience something and our king starts to react to it quickly. Why! Why do we react so much? why do we react quickly? that is the very important area where I think I have to work on and everybody should. though we should react less, we should analyze the situation understand it and after interpretation then react. We should not let our kings fight for these cheap common laborers. We should maintain the decorum of the king.
